Ten-Ten's
A quotation symbol (") is added to certain Japanese characters
to make new characters that sound different to the original by
making only a slight change. These are called ten-tens.
Here are many ways to remember what each syllable changes to:
ka, ki, ku, ke, ko
becomes King wears Golden crown
ga, gi, gu, ge, go
sa, shi, su, se, so
becomes Snakes in the Zoo
za, ji, zu, ze, zo
ta, chi, tsu, te, to
becomes Train in the Depot
da, ji, du, de, do
ha, hi, fu, he, ho
becomes Heart is Broken
ba, bi, bu, be, bo
